We use SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) Encryption
Our site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. To guard against unauthorized use, we have implemented the latest in Internet security technology. Information that is passed between your browser and our servers is encrypted with the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) system. This creates a protected connection that ensures the highest levels of confidentiality.
Any time you enter an order or provide personal information in our Customer Center (such as an account number or password), we encrypt it using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. SSL protects information as it crosses the Internet. To support this technology, you need an SSL-capable browser. We recommend using a strong encryption, 128-bit browser like Netscape Navigator 4.06 or higher or Microsoft's Internet Explorer 4.01 or higher. These browsers will activate SSL automatically whenever you sign on to your account.
You can tell if you are visiting a secure area within a Web site by looking at the symbol on the bottom of your browser screen. If you are using Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer, you will see either a lock or a key. When the symbol appears unbroken or the padlock is in the locked position, your session connection is taking place via a secure server.
If you need a strong encryption browser, you can go to the Netscape Web site or the Microsoft Web site to download the latest Navigator or Internet Explorer browser. We do not recommend the use of beta browser versions.
A Note on the Electronic Signature
Taking advantage of recently enacted Federal and emerging state law, we developed a two-step approach for using digital signatures online. The first step is for the applicant to agree to the terms of the policy, affirming that all the information in the form is correct. The second step is a third-party verification process ensuring that the content of the policy and the applicant's digital signature can never be modified or tampered with in any way.
Use of Identity Confirmation System (ICS)
In order to provide wide variety of services, we have affiliated with others who have designed an Identity Confirmation System in order to protect your security and privacy . ICS ensures that your personal credit report can only be viewed by YOU.
When a customer requests a credit report, ICS confirms the customer's identity through a series of questions derived from the credit report. If the customer cannot provide the correct information, the system does not allow that person to view the report.
